Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport was redeemed by Assam Chief Minister Hinta Biswa Biswa Sarma in the presence of stakeholders of LGBI Airport Ecosystem.
This significant milestone marks a major upgradation in the infrastructure of the airport, designed to provide passengers safe, safe and memorable travel experiences, in a statement.
To increase passenger experience, LGBIA has introduced several major upgrades. The passenger movement area has been expanded to 700 sqm to accommodate the increasing passenger number.
The number of departure gates has been extended from five to seven, leaving the passenger waiting time. These seven gates provide a total of 14 entry lanes. The separation from the airport and the parking area is adapted by adding separation traffic and by creating two additional entry points. All entry and exit digits are now fastag enabled.
A safe and convenient walking way, with a zebra crossing, is designed to protect pedestrians from the parking area to the terminal. To enable the experience of a spontaneous journey, the LGBI airport has created a traffic free lane on Kerbside. Retail and F&B outlets on this lane have been carefully cured to enhance the carbuside experience, while a lively and invited purchase and food experience for 24 hours, 365 days has been invited.
The redevelopment of T1 involves the construction of a beautiful moss wall, a touch of natural elegance for the overall airport experience. This unique feature not only enhances the beauty appeal of the terminal, but also contributes to the more pleasant and comfortable environment for the passengers.
With a special attention to Assam in T1, Kerbside will have a 47 digital screen facility to show a curate selection of videos that highlight the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of India.
These attractive scenes will not only attract tourists’ attention, but will also serve as an effective platform to transmit information about the field for a large and diverse audience to promote tourism and cultural exchange.
