How to check PF balance without UAN?

There are two ways from which you can check PF balance without UAN: by sending SMS or by giving a missed call.

To check PF balance by sending SMS

Once the KYC is completed for your UAN, you can just send an SMS to check your PF status.

Here are steps to check your PF balance by sending SMS:

Create a text message in the format “EPFOHO UAN”.

From the mobile number connected to your EPFO ​​account, send this message to 7738299899.

You will find a message with information about your latest PF contribution, and how much balance you have.
If you want to receive messages in any language other than English, then you have to insert the first 3 letters of the language after “UAN”.

Here is described how the language code is used in the message for different languages:

  • English (default): EPFO ​​UAN

  • Hindi: EPFO ​​Uan Hin

  • Punjabi: EPFO ​​Uan Penalty

  • Gujarati: EPFO ​​Uan Guj

  • Marathi: EPFO ​​Uan Kara

Checking PF balance through missed calls

If the KYC for your UAN is completed, you can make a missed call to check your PF balance.

Here are steps:

Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your PF account phone number.

Once the phone rubs twice, it should be disconnected automatically.

You will find a message with information about your PF balance and latest contribution.

Provident fund is one of the major equipment for financial security after retirement. If you do not have access to your PF balance, you can use the methods described above to check it even without UAN.

You can also ask your employer to generate your PF statement from the EPFO ​​portal to generate your PF statement for you.
