AC Safety Tips: With the arrival of rainy season, the use of AC has reduced. However, even in this humid heat, AC is still needed sometimes. Just as in the summer season, there is a greater possibility of the AC blasting or the outdoor unit catching fire, in the same way, the chances of the AC outdoor unit malfunctioning also increases during the rainy season. This especially happens with Split AC, because its outdoor units are installed outside on the walls, due to which they may face problems.
Where to place the outdoor unit?
Outdoor units are usually mounted outside on walls or ceilings to provide adequate airflow. Due to being installed outside in the open, there is a risk of overheating due to accumulation of dust and soil during summers, while there is a risk of water getting into it during the rainy season. Due to water ingress, the circuit board installed in it can be damaged and it may malfunction.
The indoor unit of AC is as important as the one that keeps the house cool. Equally important is the outdoor unit of the AC. Any problem with this will prevent your indoor unit from providing proper cooling and the room will not cool down. In such a situation, the outdoor unit should be installed on a wall over which there is a roof and there is no possibility of water ingress. Also, it should be cleaned from time to time, so that problems caused by dust and soil do not arise.
Why is shedding important?
Most of the AC manufacturing companies say that the outdoor unit of Split AC should be in the open, so that proper air supply can be provided. However, shading over the outdoor unit is very important, so that rain water does not enter it and damage the circuit. If there are trees around the outdoor unit of the AC then it will be icing on the cake as it will maintain airflow.
