Achieving the greatest success so far in the 16-year history of the Olympiad, India has remained on top among all 55 countries. Naveen Maheshwari, Director of Allen Career Institute, said that in the final round of this Olympiad held from December 3 to 11, all six students performed excellently and won gold medals and trophies. 322 students from 55 countries participated in the Olympiad. These six students from India include Arnav Aditya Singh, Atharva Shivram Mahajan, Krishna Sharma, Mahit Rajesh Gadhiwala, Manpreet Singh and Priyanshu Yadav.

Of these, Krishna Sharma scored 100% marks in the multiple choice questions paper. Along with this, he has also obtained 100% marks in Biology in the practical examination. There is a record of winning 5 gold medals in the past
There were two theory examinations in this final round of IJSO. In these, multiple choice and long answer questions were asked. Apart from these, a practical examination was held in which students performed as a group. Earlier in 2018, the Indian team had the record of winning 5 gold medals with all 5 students in the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO).
