On Friday, an official said an official on Friday that about 2,500 chickens died in a span of three days after an “mysterious disease” outbreak in Poultry Farms of Konpuram division of Madanapuram division of Vanparthi district.

The District Veterinary and Animal Officer of Vanaparthi, K Venkateswara confirmed the outbreak and said that the cause of the disease is being investigated.

While sharing the information, the official said, “A mysterious disease has killed poultry farms in Konur, Madanpuram Mandal, Vanaparthi district, resulting in about 2,500 chickens dead within just three days.”

“We inspected the opportunity after the death of 2500 chickens. We have taken samples that have been sent to the laboratory for testing,” he said.

Earlier last week, the Andhra Pradesh government had intensified efforts to curb the spread of bird flu, with strict control measures in three affected districts.

Yesterday, Andhra Agriculture, Cooperation, Marketing, and Animal Husbandry Minister Kinjarpu Avachanayadu assured the public that there was no reason to worry about bird flu, as the government had implemented strict measures to control its spread.
