Indian naval ship bears about 440 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar




New Delhi:

Increasing India’s efforts to provide succulent for earthquake-hit Myanmar, IND Gharial was loaded with a relief material weighing about 440 tonnes, exiting Visakhapatnam Harbor on Tuesday, while a field hospital installed by the Indian Army in Mandley has been operated, which provides medical care to the injured.

Indian Navy ships – INS Satpura and INS Savitri – who left for the neighboring country on Saturday, came out of the Yangon on March 31 after carrying about 40 tonnes of relief material, while INS Karmuk and LCU 52 had left Shri Vijaya Puram on Tuesday on 30 March with about 30 tonnes of relief materials from Shri Vijaya Puram.

The Navy spokesperson said that more intensifying the ongoing relief efforts in Myanmar, filled with adequate relief materials weighing about 440 tons, including INGIAL, rice, edible oil and medicines, Visakhapatnam left the Harbor on Tuesday morning.

India on Monday gave Myanmar a fresh teen of a fresh installment of 50 tonnes of relief material, killing more than 2,000 people and 3,900 injured to the 7.7-round earthquake.

Relief material was taken to Myanmariya city Yangon Ins Satpura and Ins Savitri.

India named its relief mission as ‘Operation Brahma’, which was a sharp reaction to the devastation caused by the earthquake killed on Friday with Myanmar.

On Saturday, New Delhi sent relief materials, rescue teams and medical equipment to five military aircraft to help Myanmar to help earthquake victims.

Officials said that as part of the ongoing humanitarian aid under the ‘Operation Brahma’ of the Indian Army, the Field Hospital, which includes 118 personnel, has been “successfully established in the mandalas”, the officials said.

The hospital unit was deployed in Myanmar using two C-17 heavy aircraft of IAF, which was away from Agra on Saturday.

An official said that the unit is now “fully operational with the capacity of 200-bought, offering surgical and in-post care.”

“This morning, Mandley Chief Minister U Mayo Aung visited the convenience and reviewed its abilities,” he said.

The official said the Field Hospital is fully prepared and is equipped to provide important medical care to those who strengthen India’s strong commitment to human relief efforts in the region.

The Field Hospital in Mandle is actively providing medical aid, in which 104 patients have been treated so far. The official said that surgeons have also successfully performed two life-saving surgery in the convenience.

Meanwhile, in a post on X on Tuesday, the Indian Embassy in Myanmar said, “Another 30 T Head, including Food, Medical Supply and Tents, is done by @indiannavy ships, which is done by karma and lCU52, which @ambababhaythakur was handed over to Yangon CM U Soeing.

The embassy also shared some pictures of the relief work.
