New Delhi. German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz’s sales in India increased by nine percent to 9,262 units in the first half of 2024. This growth was driven by strong demand across categories and availability of a large number of models. According to the company statement, this was its highest sales half so far in the country. It had sold 8,528 units in the January-June period of 2023. Mercedes-Benz India said in a statement that it plans to launch six new products in the second half of 2024.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, âWe recorded our best ever H1 sales driven by new and updated products, improved customer experience in the retail sector as well as positive customer sentiments.â “

Will introduce new products
Mercedes-Benz India has said in a statement that it plans to launch new products in the second half of 2024. In the first 6 months of 2024, the share of SUVs in the company’s total sales was 55 percent. At the same time, the share of top end vehicles was 25 percent. GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS performed brilliantly in the SUV segment.
Increase in Battery Electric Vehicles
The company has said that its electric vehicle portfolio has increased by 60 percent in the first half. The share of this segment in its total sales is 5 percent. The CEO of the company has said that new products will be launched in the market for the next festive season and the company will end the year with double digit growth.
