When is Indira Ekadashi: According to the Panchang, due to Udaya Tithi, the fast of Indira Ekadashi will be observed on 28th September. Ekadashi Tithi will start on September 27 at 1:20 pm, which will end on September 28 at 2:49 pm.

What to do on the day of Indira Ekadashi- Worship Lord Vishnu at an auspicious time on the day of Indira Ekadashi. If you are not fasting on this day, try to eat satvik food. Before observing the fast, make sure to resolve to observe the fast. Follow all the rules of fasting. It would be best to do Parana after sunrise. Bhajan-kirtan is also performed on this day.

What not to do on the day of Indira Ekadashi

mass-liquor- One should not consume alcoholic beverages on the day of Indira Ekadashi. Consuming vindictive food on this day may anger Lord Vishnu.

Rice- Consuming rice is prohibited on the day of Indira Ekadashi. It is believed that consuming rice on the day of Indira Ekadashi causes sin.

basil– Tulsi leaves are very dear to Lord Vishnu, without which no offering is made to the Lord. Therefore, on the day of Indira Ekadashi, Tulsi leaves should neither be touched nor plucked. According to beliefs, Tulsi ji observes fast on this day. Therefore one should avoid touching them.

black clothesAccording to religious beliefs, one should not wear black colored clothes on the day of Indira Ekadashi. To maintain the blessings of Lord Vishnu, it will be very auspicious to wear yellow colored clothes on this day.
