Self-care becomes a major expense category

Farid Abbasov, director of sales and marketing at Chenot Palace Gabla, said that women have always been a major decision -making in health and beauty.

He said, “We have seen an increase in women who prefer welfare travel and experiences in 2025. They are about to make primary decisions in their families when it comes to welfare and beauty,” he said.

Women are also traveling to wellness retreat in groups, creating a new market for businesses.

Founder and Chef, Afsha Rajkotwala highlighted the increase in ‘Girl Gang’ trips at yoga centers, farm-to-food sites and Ayurvedic Wellness Resorts.

“Women are now setting a dedicated budget for self-care journey, combining health-focused experiences with social relations,” he said.

Similarly, Tarun Gulati, director of Ganga Kinre Resorts and Hotels, said that post-pandemical, more women are selecting wellness-centered holidays.

He said, “Financial and emotional self-reliance has demanded yoga and self-awareness experiences among single and group travelers. We have seen only a steady increase in women’s wellness retreat in Rishikesh,” he said.

According to Jaspreet Singh, general manager of six senses Vana, the wellness journey is no longer a luxury, but a deliberate option.

“In the entire industry, reports suggest that 64% of welding are women, and the global wellness tourism market is expected to double between 2022 and 2030.

Luxury vs Budget: How are women spending

Wellness sector is spending at various price points.

Rajkotwala believes that women are choosing a mixture of budget and luxury welfare.

“It depends on the location, duration and offerings. Some invested in high end experiences, while others seek cheap welfare options,” he explained.

Radhikha Dhariwal, director and founder of Pass Code Hospitality, said that women are taking separate spending decisions based on their welfare goals.

“Luxury welfare is an option for those who want to decompress and relax, while budget -friendly options attract those looking for targeted treatments such as weight loss or medical treatment,” he said.

Parinita Rajgarhia, the founder of Zero Letty India, emphasized that luxury welfare is a major section.

He said, “Self-care awareness among high-income groups is more widespread. While efforts are being made to make the wellness journey more accessible, for many people, it remains a topical enjoyment rather than a regular practice,” he said.

Are women ready to pay

Some welfare experiences are commanding high demand and premium pricing.

Abbasov highlighted that in Chenot Palace Gabla, “Aqua gym, yoga, pilates, stretching and beauty treatment are the top options among women.”

Rajkotwala said that Ayurvedic and Yoga Retreats are the major draws. “In fitness programs, group classes and pilates are particularly popular.”

Dhirwal indicated the growing appeal of unified overall programs. “All-incredible wellness package-fitness, conscious food, meditation and spa therapy are also receiving a combination-publicity.”

Gulati observed premium experiences among women such as Ayurvedic massage, facial treatment and personal yoga programs.
