When is Jitiya Vrat 2024?
According to Drik Panchang, this year the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month will start on 24 September 2024 at 12:39 PM and will end the next day on 25 September 2024 at 12:10 PM. Therefore, according to Udayatithi, Jivitputrika fast will be observed on 25th September and will start after bathing and eating on 24th September. Whereas, the fast will be broken on 26th September.
Rituals of Jitiya Vrat:
On the day of Jeetiya fast, wake up early in the morning and take bath.
Worship Sun God. Keep a clean stool in the temple.
Spread a red colored cloth on it.
Install the idol of Surya Narayan and bathe him.
Offer incense, lamp and offerings to Surya Narayan.
Now make the idol of jackal and eagle from cow dung or clay.
