Jivitputrika Vrat 2024 Date and Muhurat: Jivitputrika fast has special significance in Hindu religion. This fast is also called Jitiya or Jiutiya fast. On this day, mothers observe a fast for the long life of their children. This fast is considered one of the difficult fasts. During Jitiya Vrat, women do not consume food or water for 24 hours. When is Jivitputrika or Jiutiya fast: According to the Hindu calendar, Jitiya Vrat is observed on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. This Ashtami Tithi will start at 12:38 pm on 24th September and end at 12:10 pm on 25th September. This year Jeevitputrika Vrat is on 25 September 2024.
When will the Nahay-Khay of Jivitputrika Vrat take place-
On 24th September, the Nahay Khay of Jitiya Vrat will be observed and on 25th September the mothers will observe Nirjala Vrat. After this the fast will be broken on 26th September.
Importance of Jivitputrika Vrat: It is believed that by observing Jitiya fast, children get long life and happy life. Due to the effect of this fast, the child attains happiness.

Jitiya fast puja method-
wake up early in the morning and take bath
After taking bath etc., bathe the idol of Surya Narayana.
Perform aarti with incense, lamp etc. and then offer bhog.
Make a statue of an eagle and a lion from clay and cow dung.
Offer incense, lamp, rice, flowers etc. to the idol of Jimutvahana made of Kusha.
Worship as per the rituals and listen to the story of the fast.
Make sure to donate after breaking the fast.
