On July 8, Kalki 2898 AD’s production house Vyjayanti Movies confirmed that the film has indeed crossed the Rs 900 crore mark at the box office. He shared a special poster and wrote, “Heading towards a magical milestone…Epic blockbuster Kalki in theatres.”

Compared to the 11th day collection, there was a huge decline in the collection of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ on July 8. According to the initial estimates of Saknilk, the film earned a net of Rs 11.35 crore in India. While the film earned Rs 6.5 crore in the Hindi version, the collection of the film in the Telugu version stood at Rs 3.5 crore. Whereas in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada versions the film earned less than Rs 1 crore in India.
The total collection of 12 days of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has now reached Rs 521.4 crore in India. While the Telugu version earned Rs 249.05 crore (net) in India, the Hindi version of the film collected Rs 218.9 crore.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ can enjoy a free run for a few more days before Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ (‘Bhartiyudu 2’ in Telugu and ‘Hindustani 2’ in Hindi) releases on the big screens on July 12. Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, the film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in lead roles. Produced on a large scale by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film was released in theaters in 2D and 3D on June 27.
