Palakkad:
A procession in Palakkad district of Kerala displays images of Hamas leaders during an annual cultural festival, which has strongly criticized on social media.
Banners, taken over elephants by a group of youth, were part of the “Threthla Fest” at Thrithla, Palakkad on Sunday evening.
A year ago, when @BJP4Keram Warned against a rally in Kerala, where a Hamas leader actually participated, the LDF government did not take any action. Now, in Palakkad, on a Urus festival, terrorists who killed thousands of people were glorified – pictures of Ismail Honeyh and Yahya Sinavar were paraded … pic.twitter.com/brftjvmx9

The performance of the images led the warm discussion on social media, with some the charge of the incident was associated with a religious festival and was interrogating the organizers to allow such banners.
The participation of Minister MB Rajesh, who is also an MLA from Threthla, and Congress leader and former MLA VT Balaram has further extended the debate.
However, a person, who is part of the organizing committee and wishes to remain anonymous, accused a part of young people of trying to try a communal issue on the procession, which somehow joined the religious festival. Not there.
In a Facebook post, Congress leader Balaram criticized a part of the media for using the dispute around the Threthla Fest to target the Muslim community and Kerala at the national level as well.
He said that all Indians who are not affiliated to the Sangh Parivar support the Palestinian people and their aspirations for freedom.
The Congress leader said whether the leaders of Hamas should be glorified, it is a separate issue, but condemned the Sangh Parivar for allegedly using the case as part of the anti -Muslim hatred campaign. “Thrithla will unite against such divisive efforts,” he wrote.
Explaining the nature of the festival, he said that ‘Threthla Fest’ is an annual public festival of the region, not a religious program associated with any mosque or place of worship.
He said that the organizing committee of the festival included representatives of various religious and political backgrounds. Leaders of various parties, officials and tourists regularly participate in the program.
He also mentioned that the complement of a festival included Minister MB Rajesh, MP Abdusamam Samadani, Self, President of BJP constituency and congratulatory messages from others. It will serve as evidence that ‘Threthla Fest’ is a national program rather than a religious gathering, he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP on Monday demanded that the case be registered against the organizers of the incident.
BJP state president K Surendran called the incident a “shocking” and accused both the ruling and opposition parties of appeasement politics.
He also linked this episode to a previous event, where a Hamas leader allegedly addressed a gathering in Kerala.
Police said the incident took place within the boundary of Thrithla police station. He said that no case has been registered as no complaint has been made yet.
