Maharashtra takes the first step for the establishment of AI University, 22 – Conscious Expert Team – CNBC TV18



The Maharashtra government has formed a 22 -member team to run research, skill development, technological innovation and AI manufacturing.

The initiative is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s view of ‘Vikasit India till 2047’, and reflects Maharashtra’s commitment to shape India’s digital future. It has the establishment of the state’s first AI University, which is an ambitious project that has been jointly executed for higher and technical education under the leadership of Ministries of Information and Technology as well as Minister Chandrakant Patil.

The university, which was one of the promises in the pole manifesto of the Mahayati government, is to exceed an educational institution – it will serve as a center for research, technological advancement and skill development. It is designed to prepare youth for leadership roles in the AI-managed global economy and prime to promote a new generation of new-intellectuals, researchers and entrepreneurs.

The team will submit their recommendations in a month, which will focus on the establishment of centers of excellence and innovation in Maharashtra, enhancing AI-powered solutions for governance and industry, and nurture the workforce ready for the future.

The newly formed team will be chaired by the Principal Secretary of the IT Department and scientist Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Naran Kachru of Google India, Bhuvan Lodha from Mahindra, and Vice Chancellor of Atlas Skill University will be included, academics and industry leaders. Dr. Rajan Velukar.

Representatives of major institutions such as IIT POWAI and IIT Mumbai, as well as NASSCOM, will play an important role to ensure a diverse and comprehensive approach to the development of artificial intelligence (AI).
