Mamta Kulkarni resigned from the role of Kinnar Akhara, claimed that Rs 2 lakh was demanded

Mahakumb Nagar:

Actor Mamta Kulkarni, who renounced worldly life in Maha Kumbh and acted as ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ a few weeks ago, resigned from his post on Monday.

Talking to PTI, Mahamandaleshwar Kaushalya Nand Giri of Kinnar Akhara confirmed development.

In a video message, Ms. Kulkarni said, “I, Mahamandaleshwar Yamai Mamta Nand Giri resign from my post. There was a problem between Kinnar Akhara and other saints about me.” He also alleged that he was demanded for Rs 2 lakh for the post of Mahamandaleshwar.

Claiming that he received respect after 25 years of penance, Ms. Kulkarni said, “I saw that many people objected to the post of Mahamandaleshwar. I did serious penance for 25 years under the guidance of Chaitanya Gagan Giri Maharaj. ” In Uttarakhand, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, Kinnar Katavachachak Himangi Sakhi and Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati had strongly objected to the appointment of Ms. Kulkarni as Mahamandaleshwar.

“I respect Acharya Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi of Kinnar Akhara. As far as money transactions are concerned, I was demanded for Rs 2 lakh in front of three-four Mahamandaleshwars and three-four Jagadguras.

“When I said that I did not have 2 lakh rupees, Mahamandaleshwar Jai Amba Giri took out 2 lakh rupees from his pocket and gave Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi ji,” he said.

Ms. Kulkarni further said, “Chandi Devi, whom I worshiped, may be giving me a sign that I should get out of all these things.” Kulkarni, 52, performed his ‘Pind Dan’ in Maha Kumbh last month and took ‘Sanya’ under Kinnar Akhara. He was then made the Mahamandaleshwar of Akhara.

Kinnar Akhara was founded by Eunuchs and it works under Juna Akhara. While a Akhara is a Hindu religious order, a ritual has been performed to pay tribute to the late ancestors ‘Pind Daan’.
