Mistaking a medicine for a generic generic can lead to worse side effects

If people think medicines are cheap they cause worse side effects. The finding may encourage doctors to convince people that treatments can be effective and safe, whether they are trademarked brands or less expensive copies.

“Most people have heard of the placebo effect,” says kate fase At the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. “There’s this idea that you can take a sugar pill, think it’ll work, and it’ll improve health.”
