Mosquito pain receptors were found to be less sensitive during excessive heat, which could zero some natural bug sprays



According to a new study, hotter temperature can make natural insects less effective against mosquitoes. Researchers found that a pain receptor called TRPA1 becomes less sensitive in mosquitoes when exposed to heat, meaning that chemical signs that usually trigger behavior of avoiding insects are prevented from being strongly activated.
