NASA Invests In Rocket: America’s space agency NASA has invested $ 7.25 lakh (about Rs 6 crore) in the new rocket system. NASA dreams of sending astronauts to Mars by 2030, but with current technology this journey will take many years. Therefore NASA has invested in a new type of rocket, which can complete the journey in just 2 months. Completing the journey to Mars with the help of existing rocket technology is a many years long process. Now the rocket that NASA has invested in can take astronauts to Mars in just 2 months.
According to the report of Business Insider, this rocket will reduce ‘time’, the biggest obstacle to sending humans to Mars. With the current technology, it will take about 2 years to go to Mars. Staying in a spacecraft for such a long time poses a health risk, so NASA has started working on a new rocket system.
Staying in space for a long time causes harm
According to NASA, staying in space for a long time has a great impact on health. An astronaut spending just six months is exposed to radiation equivalent to about 1,000 X-rays. This puts them at risk of cancer, nervous system damage, bone loss and heart disease. Howe Industries President Troy Howe said that the best way to reduce radiation exposure and other harmful health effects is to shorten the travel time, so they have developed the Pulsed Plasma Rocket (PPR) in collaboration with NASA. This is a new rocket system which can complete the journey to Mars in just 2 months.
When will the rocket be ready?
A PPR spacecraft carrying 4-6 passengers can travel at about 1.6 lakh kilometers per hour. It will take more than 2 decades for the rocket to be ready for Mars.
