New criteria for coaching centers as Drishti IAS, study IQ between more 9 reports from actual UPSC options – CNBC TV18

In India, at least nine coaching institutes in India, including the study IQ and Drishti IAS, were claimed more than the actual selection for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 2023, the government said on 13 November.

The government said that nine IAS coaching institutes had claimed selection of 2,689 cumulative selections in the 2023 Civil Services Examination, however, only 1,016 candidates were selected in that year. Coaching institutes were found using photographs of the same successful candidate in their advertisements.

“In UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023, UPSC recommended a total of 1016 candidates for various posts including IAS, IPS, IRS, etc., however, if we connect with various coaching institutes, then it is from the actual number of candidates recommended by UPSC Is more. Adequate margin, “Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) analysis said.

Vajiro and Reddy Institute, Shubrana Ranjan Ias, Study IQ, Vajiram and Ravi, Vision IAS, Dristi IAS, Next IAS, Shankar IAS and Chahal Academy were nine institutions, who reported the selection of candidates for their institutions.

Therefore, the Department of Consumer Affairs has issued guidelines for curbing misleading advertisements by coaching institutes. To prevent misleading advertisements in the coaching sector, guidelines are to ban the use of photographs of successful candidates in the IAS exam in lieu of monetary benefits.
