Newborn baby was found dead among train coaches near Delhi railway station: Police

New Delhi:

Police said on Monday that the body of a newborn was found to be lying on couples between two train coaches stationed near New Delhi railway station. The child’s body was covered with blood, but there was no external injury. The Prima Facial seems to be dumping the newborn just after the delivery, he said.

A senior police officer said that the body was found lying on the couples between two coaches of a train posted in the Rajdani campus near the railway station.

A coupler is an iron structure that helps to connect train coaches.

A frightening search was immediately taken by a police team by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The body was carefully removed and sent to Kalavati Hospital, where doctors declared the infant dead. Subsequently, the body was transferred to LHMC Morchari for postmortem and identity, the official said.

Initial investigation suggests that the newborn may have been deliberately left to hide the identity of the parents, police said, a crime team was called to document the scene, collect evidence and take photos.

“The teams are scanning CCTV footage and collecting evidence to track those responsible people,” the official said.
