Now there will be no need to stand in line for tokens in Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has partnered with Amazon Pay for digital QR ticketing service. In this, now users can use their mobile phone as a ticket. By downloading the ticket with QR code in the mobile phone, they can show it at the entry gate and undertake their journey. This will benefit millions of smartphone users who use Delhi Metro daily to reach their destination.

DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) has announced this through its X handle. Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro can book QR code based tickets using Amazon Pay app on their phones. Now Delhi Metro passengers will get the facility to book QR code based tickets through WhatsApp, Paytm, DMRC Momentum 2.0, One Delhi and Tummoc apps as well as Amazon Pay.

How to book tickets?

  1. Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro will have to install the Amazon app on their phones.
  2. After logging in to the app, users will see the Amazon Pay section on the home page.
  3. After tapping on this section, a new tab will open.
  4. The option of Delhi Metro QR Ticket will appear in this tab.
  5. After tapping on this, in the next page you will have to enter from where to where you want to book the ticket.
  6. After this you will get a QR code, which you can travel by showing it to the machine installed at the station.

Keep these things in mind

  • Passengers can book only one-way tickets through Amazon Pay. To return, the passenger will again have to repeat the above steps and book the ticket.
  • Delhi Metro has also set a condition for booking tickets that a maximum of 6 tickets of the same origin and destination station can be booked from one account on Amazon Pay in a day.
  • Another new ticket can be booked only after 1 hour of booking the ticket through the app.
  • Tickets booked through Amazon Pay will be booked for travel on the same day only. Passengers cannot book any ticket in advance.
