Operation Sindoor: Army’s pics show terrorist camps in Pakistan


Nine terrorist camps used by groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jai-e-Mohammed to carry out attacks in India were destroyed in overnight air strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-Quiz Kashmir (POK).

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri along with Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh informed the media on accurate attacks on terrorist camps.

The targets killed in Pakistan included Sarjal Camps in Sialkot, Mehmoon Joy and Markz Taiba, Muridke and Markz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur. In Poke, targets included Sawai Nala and Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad, Gulappur and Abbas Camp in Kotli and Barnala camps in Bimber.

Muzaffarabad (POK)

  • Sawai Nala Camp, Lashkar-e-Tabiba, had a major training facility at Muzaffarabad, located in Poke, about 30 km from LoC. Here trained terrorists attacked citizens and security forces in Gulmarg and Son Marg last year, and Pahalgam attacks.

  • The Syedana Belal camp in Muzaffarabad was used by Jaish-e-Mohammed as a staging area, which was carried out to carry out attacks in the LoC. Here, terrorists were trained in weapons and explosives, and in the forest existence.

Kotli (poke)

  • Gulappur camp at Kotli, located 30 km from LoC, was a base camp for Lashkar-e-Tabiba. Terrorists operated here in Rajouri-Poonch, and carried out attacks in Poonach in 2023 and in a bus of pilgrims last year. Mumbai attacked the mastermind Zaki-ur-Remon Lakhvi, allegedly raised the camp for the purposes of inciting the camp.

Sialkot (Pakistan)

  • The Sarjal camp in Sialkot was located about 6 km from the international border. The attack leaving four policemen in Jammu and Kashmir in March was carried out by trained militants here.

  • The Mehmoon Zoya camp near Sialkot was located about 12 km from the international border. It was a training facility of Hizbul Mujahideen and was also used to spread terrorism in the Kathua-Jamu region. The 2016 attack at Pathankot Airbase was directed from this camp.

Muridke (Pakistan)

  • Muridke, located about 25 km from the border, was the headquarters of the Markez Taiba Camp, Lashkar-e-Tabiba. Ajmal Kasab, a terrorist caught alive during the Mumbai attacks, confessed that he was trained here. David Headley also allegedly trained here.

Bhavalpur (Pakistan)

  • About 100 km from the border, Markz Suhan Camp in Bhavalpur was the headquarters of Jai-e-Mohammed. It was used for recruitment, training and indigenization of potential recruitments. Terrorist commanders like Masood Azhar saw this camp.

Officials said that accurate attacks were carried out using top technology weapons with careful selection of warheads, which did not ensure any collateral damage, officials said that the impact in each strike was a specific building or a group of buildings.

He said that no military establishment was targeted, and no reports of collateral damage have been reported.
