A former bank employee, Osamu Suzuki, took his break in the automotive business after marrying Shoko Suzuki, granddaughter of Michio Suzuki, who founded the earlier company of Suzuki Motor in 1909. After leaving the post as President in 2000, he became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Suzuki Motor. He returned to the age of 78 in December 2008 as President, when Suzuki Motor was expected to decline his first profit in eight years, which was to lead the front among the global recession.

Suzuki passed his son for the presidency in June 2015 and took over as president and CEO, but then resigned as CEOs on the misunderstanding of a shameful fuel-affairs.

Suzuki was a person of Spartan habits and was known to blow up the orbit of the economy even during his old age as part of his frugal lifestyle.
