New Delhi. Bajaj Auto is going to launch the updated model of its popular electric scooter Chetak on 20 December. The new body frame will be used in Chetak Electric Scooters, with the battery pack scooter fixed under the floorboard.

In the new version, the under seat storage of the scooter can be increased to 22 liters. Apart from this, some changes can also be seen in the design of e-scooter but they will be modest. The e-scooter is expected to get more range with new battery packs. Let’s know what features the company can add in the new Chetak scooter.

Price can be around 1 lakh
According to media reports, the price of new Bajaj Chetak can also be kept around the current model. Currently, Bajaj Chetak is available in 3 variants with the price of Rs 96,000 to Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At the same time, the new model is being estimated to be launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1 lakh.

LED lighting setup with steel body
Electric scooters will come with the steel body as before and there will be less changes in its design. It will get body colored rear view mirror, satin black grab rail, matching pillion footrest and charcoal black finish to headlamp casting.

It will come with electric scooter disc brake, alloy wheel, LED lighting, telescopic front suspension and IP67 rated waterproof battery. For braking, it currently gets drum brakes on both sides, but a disc brake setup can also be found in the new model.

Apart from this, the scooter will also get a hill-hold control and an extra ‘sport’ ride mode. In India, Chetak competes with electric scooters like Ather Rose Z, Ola S1 Pro and TVS i-Cube.

Chetak’s range and battery
The current variant of Chetak scooter gives a range of 137km on full charge. Its top speed is 73kmph and comes in three variants. This includes Chetak 2903, Chetak 3202 and Chetak 3201, which starts from Rs 95,998 to Rs 1,27,244 lakh.
