Plasma arc cutting: Scientists decode gas flow dynamics

Plasma arch cutting (PAC) is a thermal cutting technique that is widely used in manufacturing applications such as shipbuilding, aerospace, fabrication, nuclear plants decomization, manufacturing industry and motor vehicle industry. In this process, a jet of plasma or ionized gas is pulled out at high speed, which melts and later removes unwanted parts of the material from electrolysis such as metals.
