Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgulam announced on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be honored with the Grand Commander of the country’s highest honor, Order of the Star and the Indian Ocean order.
PM Modi is the first Indian to receive this prestigious award, recognizing his contribution in strengthening relations between India and Mauritius.
This is the 21st International Award awarded by a foreign nation to PM Modi.
Ramgulam said that PM Modi is the fifth foreign national to get this specific recognition.
