Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation with Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgulam on Wednesday.
PM Modi said that the institute will serve as a hub for learning and research.
In a post on X, he said, “PM Dr. Navinchandra Ramgulam and I jointly inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation. It will serve as a center for learning, research and public service, promoting new ideas and leadership for future. It also strengthens our shares and development for development.”

Earlier in the day, PM Modi received the highest National Award for Mauritius.
Although the weather was not with him, thousands of people gathered at the venue, breaking the heavy rains to accept their leader on National Day.
“I express my heartfelt gratitude for the highest National Award for Mauritius. It is not just my honor, it is an honor of 1.4 billion Indians. It is a tribute to the families between India and Mauritius for centuries -old cultural and historical bonds. Modi said while receiving the award.
PM Modi dedicated the award to Indians who migrated to Mauritius and contributed to the lively diversity of the country.
“I accept this award with humility and gratitude. I dedicate it to your ancestors who came to India centuries before Mauritius and for all their generations. Through his hardwork, he wrote a gold chapter in Mauritius development and contributed to its lively diversity,” he said.
PM Modi further said that he was committed to increasing the India Mauritius strategic partnership for Greater Heights.
He said, “I also embrace this honor as a responsibility and confirm our commitment that we will continue to make every effort to increase India’s Mauritius strategic partnership to Greater Heights.”
