A police academy in Japan is teaching its male officers the art of makeup after planting with beauty advisors, according to a report South China Morning PostFukushimaken Kesatsugako, a police academy in Fukushima province, launched a makeup course for 60 police cadets in January this year, including graduates, which paid significant attention.
In addition to teaching fundamental makeup techniques, such as using eyebrows pencils, moisturizing the skin and applying primers, cadets were also taught aesthetic skills such as trimming eyebrows and hairstyles. Famous Japanese cosmetics brand Syedo was also planted to provide high standard of professionalism.
As a sub-species of the Police Academy, as Takeshi Sugiura, police officers often connect with various members of the community, maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
“We want to remind the students that as members of society and future police officers, it is important to maintain a proper appearance,” said Mr. Sugiaura.

One of the male cadets undergoing training said: “I have never worn makeup before. I believe that being a police officer often means in public eyes, so I want to make sure that I want to make sure I present myself well before leaving. “
The introduction of courses in various academies caused a hurry of reactions on Japanese social media, while some others appreciate the step.
“Now they can throw loose powder in the eyes of suspects to catch them!” One user said, while the other said: “It may seem absurd, but is it not a good idea for both men and women to take makeup course?”
Japanese police academies traditionally focus on providing physical and legal education to their cadets, but the introduction of such innovative courses is seen as an attempt to engage the community with etiquette.
Apart from the academy in Fukushima, another police academy in Yamaguchi has also implemented a similar program, teaching male cadets to clean their face properly.
