Researchers from Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP have developed a foil that turns into polyurethane foam (PU foam) when actually warm. The foil allows for iscenate-free foaming, thus improves workplace safety. Additionally, it provides logistics benefits for storage and transportation. Materials can be customized for various applications from motor vehicle and construction industries to packaging.
