In a major step, the Punjab government has approved the increment for government doctors, accepting their significant contribution to public health. Hike will bring more financial relief for healthcare professionals serving the state.
In addition, honorarium for rural chowkidars in Punjab has been increased. On 1,250 1,500 per month, providing very important support to those serving in remote areas of the state. The government has also been focused on the welfare of acid attack victims, raised from their monthly pension. 8,000 to 10,000, is an important step in improving their livelihood and welfare.
In his address, Minister Cheema highlighted that the government has approved the establishment of special courts for rapid settlement of cases related to NRI (NRI). The move aims to accelerate legal proceedings and resolve issues that affect the NRI community.
The government has also taken steps to address long pending financial matters. The pending bills will be approved soon, it will be ensured that the state’s timely payment and better financial health will improve.
On the recruitment front, the government has approved the recruitment of 3,000 new employees. Of these, 2,000 PTIs (physical training instructors) will be teachers, filing significant intervals in the education sector. Additionally, 822 posts have been approved for the Health Department, including the recruitment of 97 resident doctors to increase the medical infrastructure of the state. To further enhance the healthcare system, the government has also approved the hire of 13 sports injured doctors.
In a significant development, special courts dedicated to NRI cases have been approved within Punjab to ensure rapid justice for migrants. In addition, the government has facilitated transfer of land from Bathinda Thermal Plant to PCPSL, which will play an important role in the ongoing energy projects of the state.
