Punjab Police allegedly arrested 2 arrests for espionage, Pakistan ISI leaked military information




Amritsar:

The Punjab Police on Sunday said that the Punjab Police arrested two persons and arrested Pakistan’s intelligence operators to leak sensitive information and air hideouts in Army Cantonment areas and Amritsar.

The accused have been identified as Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih.

Speaking to ANI, Maninder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Rural Amritsar said, “Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav have issued instructions that we immediately get information about arrest and imprisonment. We get such information. We get a lot of data from them.”

SSP Singh said, “He had another companion, Harpreet, who brought him in contact with ISI, and we would bring him from Amritsar Jail on a production warrant. An NDPS case was already registered against him.”

SSP Singh said that the accused was paid Rs 5,000 for small information and Rs 10,000 for more sensitive information about military movements. He said, “We have registered an FIR number 92 under the Official Secret Act and Information Technology Act, and we are investigating the matter. According to preliminary investigation, they received Rs 5,000 for small information and Rs 10,000 for more sensitive information about movement or something else.”

Police also recovered large quantities of weapons and RDX from the accused. SSP Singh said, “We have recovered a lot of weapons and RDX. First, they used to choose a consignment of heroin from the border, and now they were sought such information. When we got this information, the Punjab Police quickly acted and arrested them.”

SSP Singh said, “They were revealing information about the establishment and movements of sensitive army for Pakistan’s intelligence operators and helping strengthen the enemy’s design, but we have caught them and are working strictly against them,” SSP Singh said.

The tension between India and Pakistan has increased after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, killing 26 people. Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met on 23 April and detailed information was given on the terrorist attack.

The CCS condemned the strongest conditions of the attack, expressed its deep condolences to the families of the victims, and expected the initial recovery of the injured. In briefing, relations with across the border of the terrorist attack were exposed. The attack came after successful holding of elections in the center area, which has seen continuous progress in terms of economic development and development.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has given the armed forces complete operational freedom to take the mode, goals and timely decisions of India’s response. The government has also announced several measures, including inserting the Indus Water Treaty into Abanence, which has to send a strong message to Pakistan for its support for terrorism.
