Rajasthan: First the entire village was converted into a cantonment, then the Bindauri of Dalit brother and sister came out with much fanfare.

Rajasthan News: A village in Bhuran district of Rajasthan was converted into a police cantonment. There was a wedding of a Dalit girl in the village and some people were protesting against the marriage procession of the Dalit groom. The wedding procession of the Dalit groom could take place only after the police and administration reached the village.

However, during the procession the upper caste people were also accused of pelting stones. Two people from the groom’s side were injured in stone pelting and are undergoing treatment in the district hospital. The same police chased away the people who pelted stones and tried to stop Bindori.

The matter pertains to village Naugaya of Chiksana police station area, which is about eight kilometers away from Bharatpur district headquarters. There, on the night of 11th July, the wedding of the sister of Rajveer Singh, who belonged to the Dalit community living in the village, was taking place.

Rajveer Singh wanted that by ending the old conservative tradition, just as all the upper caste people take out a wedding procession through the village, he should also take out his sister’s wedding procession and the groom’s wedding procession through Bindori village. When the villagers came to know about this, they did so. Rajveer Singh was threatened for doing so, after which he complained to the district administration. The administration imposed restrictions on the upper caste people of the village.

Last night, even before the procession reached the village, police and administration officials reached the village with heavy police force and the procession was taken out to Bindori through the village under the protection of the police. More than 100 policemen armed with weapons were deployed in the village for security arrangements. Went. Administration and police officials themselves were also present on the spot so that the procession of the Dalit groom could pass safely. When the wedding procession was leaving, the upper caste people of the village pelted stones. But the procession was evacuated under police security.

What did the Dalit bride’s brother say?

The bride’s brother Rajbir Singh told that the marriage of my sister Asha was fixed with Keluri Manoj of village Nadbai police station area. Tonight the marriage procession was coming and the procession of Bindori was going to pass through the village. The villagers had threatened me regarding Bindori evacuation. A complaint was made to the administration, despite the presence of police administration, stones were pelted at the wedding procession in which two of our people were injured. We want that today there is democracy where everyone has equal rights, yet the upper caste people do not allow the Dalit groom to pass through Bindori village.

Bharatpur District Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa said that a groom’s bindori was removed in the village. During this time the old wall of the terrace was demolished by some anti-social elements. Two people have been injured, no policeman has been injured, there is peace on the spot, the entire wedding procession has been evacuated peacefully.
