The world’s second largest Heron, White-Ballid Heron (WBH), is a symbolic bird for the people of Bhutan and also a specific “umbrella species”, which requires a habitat with a huge, protected environment. In recent years, WBH’s residence has been severely disturbed by human activities, and its population has decreased significantly.
