Moscow:
Russia has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the May 9 celebrations, marking the 80th anniversary of winning the Germany in World War II, said Deputy Foreign Minister Andre Rudanko.
Moscow is expecting the Indian Prime Minister at the May 9 parade. The invitation has already been sent and the work is being done on the journey, Rudenco was said by the state -run Tass News Agency.
Rudankco said on Tuesday, “This work is being done … he is an invitation.”
In New Delhi, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaywal said that the Prime Minister has received an invitation and “We will announce our participation in the Victory Day celebrations at the appropriate time”.
Russia has invited leaders of many favorable nations to participate in this year’s Victory Day Parade.
In January 1945, the Soviet army made an aggressive start against Germany. On 9 May, the commanders signed the Act of untimely surrender to Germany, which ended the war.
In July last year, Prime Minister Modi visited Moscow to attend the 22nd Russia-India summit, his first visit to the country in about five years. He visited the Far Eastern city Vladivostoc to participate in an economic closing in 2019.
In October last year, Modi visited the Russian city of Kazan for the BRICS summit.
During his last visit, Modi invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit India.
Putin has already accepted Modi’s invitation to visit India. He is expected to visit India this year, which is part of the established structure for mutual annual engagement between the leaders of both nations. However, Putin’s travel dates have not yet been revealed.
On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day in January, in congratulating President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, Putin said that the Russian-Indian relations are based on “special and privileged strategic partnership”.
Putin and Modi maintain regular contacts, having telephone conversations once every two months. The two leaders also held the meetings of the individual, especially on the occasion of international events.
