Russia India Relations: When PM Modi raised the issue of inclusion of Indian youth in the Russian Army, a reply has come from Russia. During his visit to Russia, Prime Minister Modi had raised the issue of early release of Indians recruited in the army with President Vladimir Putin. India’s Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra has given this information. He told that the Russian President has promised that the Indians will be sent soon. At the same time, a statement has also come from Russia regarding this.
Russia’s acting ambassador to India, Roman Babushkin, said that Russia never wants to recruit Indians into the Russian Army. He told that most of the people were admitted by cheating. The acting ambassador said that we do not want Indians to be recruited in the Russian Army. They have been brought by deception. Roman said that we are working with the Indian government, so that this matter is resolved soon. The presence of these people does not matter to the Russian army. The 50-60 people that are being said will not make any difference.
‘Whoever wants to come back, we will bring him’
Russia’s acting ambassador said, as per our understanding, they have come on commercial basis. Some people were tricked into joining the agents here and went away, which is a crime. He said that the governments of Russia and India will search for them and whoever wants to come back, we will bring them back. The ambassador said that we are investigating which agent recruited and betrayed him. Russian agents are also under investigation since then. He also told that all the Indians are on tourist and business visas in Russia. Russia does not have any mechanism to recruit Indians or citizens of other countries into the Russian Army.
