Samsung May Bring Galaxy S25’s Top Camera Features to Older Galaxy Models



The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was launched earlier this month as the top-of-the-line offer in the company’s flagship phone lineup and it comes with hardware upgrade, especially in terms of camera. However, some new camera-centric features, such as motion photos and 10-bit HDR videos, may also fall down to the old Galaxy model, according to a report. They are expected to reach the company’s old equipment with a UI update.

New camera features on old Galaxy smartphone

According to a samomobile ReportA UI 7.1 update of Samsung can introduce the above and more features of Galaxy S25 Ultra on old models. It may include 10 new filters, including six film-style filters with a vintage beauty. Some of them are soft, sharp, intense, subtle, warm and dark. Older Galaxy users will allegedly be able to customize these filters with color temperature, contrast and saturation. There are also AI-based custom filters that are sewn to match the atmosphere in photographs.

Samsung has also been informed to introduce a log format for video recording with Apple. This can support video recording up to 8L 30fps, allowing 3D Lut applications for accurate color grading. The Galaxy S25 Ultra 10-bit introduces HDR video that is expected to be available on old Galaxy devices soon. It is said that it is an option for both compatibility and detailed view with hybrid log gamma and HDR 10+respectively.

The phone is also reported to support virtual aperture control, which offers the depth of professional-grade from F1.4 to F16 to the depth of the professional-grade. The company offers in-built 2048 and 4096 digital ND filters on the Galaxy S25 Ultra that can also make its way for the old Galaxy model.

Similar to Apple’s live photos, Samsung introduced the motion photo, which not only catches the moment, but also has a 1.5-second snipet before and after killing the shutter. Meanwhile, the new single tech with time machine tool captures the footage of 5 seconds before the recording starts and enables users to capture the 12-megapixel still photos when recording the footage. These features have also been rolled for old galaxy devices.
