Samsung Working on First-Party Controllers for Project Moohan Headset

Samsung is allegedly developing a new motion controller for the company’s first Android XR headset project Mohan. Like the Apple Vision Pro, which is already commercially available, Samsung’s prototype supports hand -based gestures. However, the South Korean tech group is also asked to work on dedicated controllers who can offer better accuracy when using the headset, for users who want to play games or use specific apps that require external controller. Samsung’s first-sided controllers will be allegedly optional and sold separately.

Controller dedicated to Project Mohan can provide better accuracy

According to a samomobile ReportThe company is working on new first-long speed controllers for its project Muhan headset. The publication states that this model discovers a controller with ET-OI610, but there is no mention of whether it was found in the code, marketing materials or other sources.

The report also states that first-party controllers cannot be included with Project Mohan. If the claim is correct, Samsung may offer optional controller support on its Android XR headset. The company showed the prototype at its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, when it launched the Samsung Galaxy S25 series of the smartphone. It was also recently displayed in the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025).

According to the project Mooohan XR headset company, multimodal will provide support for artificial intelligence (AI) abilities. A teaser shown at the Galaxy unpacked event shows that users will be able to control the headset using their hands, eyes, and voice commands. This will run on Google’s new Android XR operating system.

While the Apple Vision Pro currently provides support for standard Third party controllerThe earlier report states that Apple will update Vision Pro with the support of Sony’s PS VR2 motion controllers later this year. Support for Sony’s motion controllers is expected to arrive as part of the upcoming Visionos update.
