Saudi Airlines Flight Catches Fire: A Saudi Airlines plane caught fire at Peshawar Airport in Pakistan. There were 276 passengers and 21 crew members on board the plane. This flight came to Peshawar from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. There is no news of any casualty in the fire. All passengers have been safely evacuated from the aircraft. According to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesperson Saifullah, as soon as smoke was seen coming out of the landing gear, air traffic controllers became active and the pilots were alerted and the airport’s fire brigade and rescue team were sent there.
Passengers were evacuated from the emergency gate
Saudi Airlines flight number SV792 landed at Peshawar airport on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, smoke was seen rising from the left landing gear of the plane. After this, there was panic at the airport. Thankfully, the airport officials controlled the fire in time. As soon as information about the fire came, there was panic among the passengers. Airport officials immediately sent the rescue team towards the plane. After this the passengers were taken out through the emergency gate of the plane.
Official statement from Saudi Airlines
Issuing an official statement, Saudi Airlines said, “The airline has clarified that its flight SV792 from Riyadh to Peshawar experienced smoke coming from the tires while landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan.” The aircraft was immediately stopped and the relevant authorities were informed. All passengers and crew have been safely evacuated.
