Sawan 2024, Shivling Puja Vidhi: Tomorrow is the first Monday of Sawan dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to mythology, in the month of Sawan itself, Mother Parvati had performed severe penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband. Performing Rudrabhishek of Shivling in Sawan is considered especially auspicious. On this day, the entire Shiva family is worshiped with rituals during the auspicious time. Sawan Rudrabhishek-Vidhi
After taking bath etc., first of all meditate on Lord Ganesha. After this, meditate on Lord Shiva, Parvati and all the gods and the nine planets and resolve to perform Rudrabhishek. Make Shivlinga from clay and install it in the north direction. The person performing Rudrabhishek should face east. Start this method by anointing Shivalinga with Ganga water. First of all, bathe Shivling with Ganga water. After this, anoint Shivling with sugarcane juice, raw cow’s milk, honey, ghee and sugar candy. Offer holy water or Ganga water before and after anointing with each material. Offer Bilva leaves, white sandalwood, Akshat, black sesame, hemp, Dhatura, Ank, Shami flowers and leaves, Kaner flower, Kalava, fruits, sweets and white flowers to the Lord. After this, worship all the Gods and Goddesses including Shiva family. Offer food to the Lord. Perform the Aarti of Lord Shiva with full devotion. Pray for forgiveness at the end. During this process, collect the water or other liquids offered and sprinkle it on all the corners of the house and on all the people and can also accept it as Prasad. Getting Rudrabhishek done especially by a learned Pandit is considered very auspicious. However, you can also complete this method by reciting Rudrashtadhyayi yourself.
Note- While doing Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva, keep chanting Shiva Mantra or Mahamrityunjaya Mantra.

Auspicious time for Rudrabhishek on first Monday of Sawan
Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva can also be done on 22nd July in Abhijeet Muhurta from 12:00 PM to 12:55 PM and 12:46 PM to 01:10 PM. Rudrabhishek can also be done in Brahma Muhurta.
