Stock Market Closing On 12 July 2024: The last trading session of the week of the Indian stock market has been very spectacular. Strong buying was seen in IT stocks on the back of TCS’s excellent quarterly results, due to which Sensex and Nifty reached historic highs in the day’s trading. A jump of more than 1600 points has been seen in the Nifty IT index. At the end of trading, BSE Sensex closed at 80,519 points with a jump of 622 points and Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at lifetime high of 24,502 points with a gain of 186 points.

There has been a huge rise in IT stocks in today’s business. In which TCS closed with a rise of 6.68 percent, Infosys 3.57 percent, HCL Tech 3.20 percent, Tech Mahindra 3.19 percent. Apart from this, Axis Bank closed with a rise of 1.62 percent, Reliance 0.96 percent, Bajaj Finance 0.78 percent, HUL 0.47 percent, SBI 0.36 percent. Among the falling stocks, Maruti closed with a fall of 1 percent, Asian Paints 0.79 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.77 percent, ICICI Bank 0.56 percent, Titan 0.55 percent, Bharti Airtel closed with a fall of 0.42 percent.

Today’s business: Due to the rise in IT stocks, Nifty IT index closed with a rise of 1690 points. Apart from this, shares of FMCG, media, energy, healthcare, oil and gas sectors have closed sharply. While consumer durables, metals, real estate and auto stocks closed with losses. Midcap and smallcap stocks remained bullish even today. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 20 closed with gains and 10 closed with losses. Whereas out of 4036 shares listed on BSE, 1687 closed with gains and 2248 with decline.

BSE market cap jump

Due to the spectacular rise in the Indian stock market in today’s trade, there has been a jump in market capitalization. The market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 452.38 lakh crore, whereas it had closed at Rs 451.20 lakh in the previous trading session. A jump of Rs 1.18 lakh crore has been seen in market capitalization in today’s session.
