New York -based cyber security firm Vij says that it has found a structure of sensitive data due to inadvertently open internet with Chinese Artificial Intelligence Startup Deepsek.
In a blog post published on Wednesday, Vij said that a scan of the infrastructure of Dipsek has shown that the company had accidentally abandoned more than a million lines of data available. They included digital software keys and chat logs to capture the indications being sent from users to the company’s free AI assistant.
Vij’s Chief Technology Officer said Deepsek quickly secured the data, as his firm alerted him.
“They took it down in less than an hour,” said Ami Luttwak. “But it was very simple that we believe that we are not the only ones who found it.”
Deepsek did not return a message demanding immediate comments.
After the launch of its AI assistant, Dipsek’s practically overnight success has thrilled China and expressed concern in the US. The Chinese company’s clear ability to match the capabilities of Openai at a very low cost has questioned the stability of American AI giants like NVIDIA and Microsoft and the stability of profit margin.
Until Monday, it overtook the US rival chat in the download from Apple’s app store, triggering a global sales in tech shares.
