Hasaranga resigns from captaincy of Sri Lankan team before the series against India India-Sri Lanka T20 series will start from July 26 in Pallekele.
New Delhi. The 3-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka is to start from 26th July. Before this series, the Sri Lankan team has suffered a big setback. Wanindu Hasaranga has resigned from the captaincy of the T20 team. The performance of the Sri Lankan team, which came to play T20 World Cup 2024 under the captaincy of Hasaranga, was very poor. The Lankan team was eliminated in the first round. Hasaranga was chosen the captain of Sri Lanka’s T20 team last year. He captained the team in 10 T20 matches.
On behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket, it has been said that Wanindu Hasaranga has given his resignation keeping in mind the interest of the team. He has resigned from the captaincy and has decided to remain in the team as a player. Hasaranga is an important member of the team. He plays in the team as a bowling all-rounder. Both the teams have not yet announced their squads for the India vs Sri Lanka T20 series.
