Some of the oldest known sex chromosomes in octopus are studying



The octopus revealed just another secret: does it determine its sex. Researchers at the University of Oregon have identified a sex chromosome in a two-spot octopus in California. This chromosome is prone to about 480 million years, as the evolutionary before octopus was separated from the nottilus on the tree. This makes it one of the oldest known animal sex chromosomes.
