Two strange, icy objects in our galaxy that look unlike anything astronomers have ever seen may be entirely new types of stars.

In 2021, Takashi Shimonishi He and his colleagues at Niigata University in Japan observed two icy balls of gas in almost the same part of the sky, but separated by a distance large enough to be unrelated to each other.
