Tejas Fighter Jet successfully tests the fire of Estra missile from Odisha coast




New Delhi:

India’s indigenously built Tejas Light Combat Aircraft successfully fired Homegron Air-to-air missile Estra on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the missile was tested from the coast of Chandipur in Odisha.

“Test-firing successfully demonstrated a direct hit of the missile on the flying target,” said this.

The ministry said, “All sub -cast performed correctly to fulfill all mission parameters and objectives.”

The Estra missile has been designed and developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

It is capable of confusing the target at a range of more than 100 km.

The missile is equipped with advanced guidance and navigation systems that allow it to destroy goals with greater accuracy.

The missile is already in the Indian Air Force.

The ministry said in a statement, “Successful Test-firing is an important milestone towards the induction of LCA AF MK1A variants.”
