Vatican City:
Pope Francis will mark the 12th anniversary of his election as the leader of the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics on Thursday, but he will do so from Jameli Hospital in Rome where he has been treated for double pneumonia for about a month.
The latest Vatican’s latest bulletins on the status of 88 -year -old Pope have said that it is improving and is no longer in danger. He has not said when he will be discharged from the hospital.
Francis was chosen on 13 March 2013 by the world’s Roman Catholic Cardinals. His constant migration in the hospital – he was admitted on 14 February – changing the tenure of how Catholic is celebrating.
Cardinal Michael Czerny, a senior Vatican officer, known near Francis, called the Pope’s anniversary “a cause of gratitude”.
He said: “This year, their illness is especially grateful to us (of anniversary), especially God, and rebuilds our prayers for their complete recovery.”
Jorge Mario Bergoglio, born in Argentina, Francis, is the first Pope than the US.
Pontifs were selected at the age of 76, he quickly left to create an impact. In 12 years, he has reorganized the bureaucracy of the Vatican, wrote four major teaching documents, made 47 foreign trips in more than 65 countries, and built more than 900 saints.
Overall, Francis is widely seen as an attempt to open a global church for the modern world.
Amidst major decisions, they have allowed priests to bless the same-lingo couples based on the case-case and first appointed women to serve as leaders of Vatican offices.
He has also held five major Vatican summit of the world’s Catholic bishops, such as coordination of women and changing the issues of competition such as changing sexual teachings of the church.
David Gibson, an American academic, who has closely followed the sinner, said that Francis “appears to be like an indispensable pope” for many Catholics.
Gibson, director of the Center on Religion and Culture of Fordham University, said, “Francis has actually resetted expectations for a pope: a pastor who welcomes everyone and does not give good desire to anyone.”
However, the Pope’s agenda has disturbed some Catholics, including some senior cardinals. He has accused him of watering church teachings on issues such as the same gender marriage and divorce and remarriage, and to focus excessive focus on political issues such as climate change.
Some of the survivors of Catholic pastor sexual abuse have said that they should do more to protect children in the church.
While Francis formed the first Pope Commission on the issue, groups of remaining people have questioned its effectiveness and called the Pope to create zero-assessment policies.
‘What do our world want’
Francis is known for his own work for tiredness and has continued his work from the hospital. But when he starts his 13th year as the Pope, it is not clear whether he will be able to maintain his normal speed once by discharging the hospital.
Doctors who did not involve their care said that they are likely to face a long, frightening road to recovery, giving their age and other medical conditions, which have severely limited their mobility.
His prolonged public absence has speculated that he may choose to follow his predecessor Benedict XVI and resign from a sinner. But his friends and biography have insisted that he has no plans to leave the post.
The Pope’s majority for 2025 centers around the Catholic Holi year, which has filled its calendar with the audience with groups of pilgrims coming to Rome. The church expect 32 million pilgrims during the year.
Francis is also planning at least one foreign trip. He wants to travel to Türkiye to celebrate the 1,700th anniversary of a major Christian council of bishops in ancient Nicaea, which is now the modern city of Econnic.
The Vatican officials hope that he would push to travel, even if it should be postponed beyond May when it was planned.
Many Catholic are also expecting that Francis will continue to go significantly on political issues, which are important for them, such as treatment of immigrants, and global conflicts.
Just three days before the hospital left, Francis rapidly criticized US President Donald Trump’s immigration crack in an unusual open letter for the US Catholic bishop.
“Pope Francis has offered both vision and leadership to the world,” said Mary Dennis, a former leader of the Vatican Advisor and an international Catholic organization focused on world peace issues.
“He really needs our broken, violent, confused world,” he said.
