Gorakhpur News: Due to heavy rains in the mountains, many rivers in Uttar Pradesh are in spate and the water level of many rivers has even crossed the danger mark. After the release of water from Nepal, Rapti river in Gorakhpur has crossed the danger mark. Rapti river is flowing three cm above the danger mark at Birdghat. Due to more water coming, the water level may rise further.
Rapti is flowing 3 cm above the danger mark in Gorakhpur on Thursday morning, Rapti river crossed the danger point 74.98 at Birdghat and reached 75.010 RL meter. According to the report at 8:00 am, Rapti river has crossed the danger mark and the condition of other rivers of the state is also similar. Ghaghra river is flowing 37 cm above the danger mark of 92.73 near Ayodhya bridge.

Apart from this, Ghaghra river is flowing 13 cm below the danger mark 64.01 at Turtipar, while Rohin is flowing 1 meter below the danger mark 82.44 at Trimuhani Ghat. Similarly, Kuano is flowing 1.3 meters below the danger point 78.65 in Mukhlispur and 45 cm below the danger point 70.50 in Gurra Pindra.
In view of the rising water level of the river, the administration teams are already on alert. River water has started filling many low-lying areas. After which many surrounding areas have become affected by floods. Due to water filling in Rapti river, the stairs of Guru Gorakhnath Ghat of Rajghat also got submerged in water on Wednesday.
To deal with the flood situation, the administration has issued an alert in the low-lying areas. Flood posts have been set up to help the flood affected people. Arrangements have also been made to provide relief material to the people. Due to rain and rising water level, 633 villages in 12 districts of the state are flood affected. The government has given necessary instructions to the officials to deal with the floods.
