New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki has been leading the Indian car market for the last 22 years. If you look at the top-10 selling cars of every month, then most of the Maruti cars are in the list. Cars like Maruti’s WagonR, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga are known as the best selling models in India. These cars are always at first, second or third position in terms of sales.

However, a car manufacturer of the country launched an SUV which snatched the crown of Maruti’s cars a few years ago. This car has reached about 4 lakh more homes and offers the best performance, space and safety features at its price.

Tata Punch is a well -known name in the Indian car market. Tata Motors launched it as a budget SUV in October 2021 and since then its burning has been intact. The company launched it at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.49 lakh and it is still the safet car coming in its segment. The latest generation of Tata Panch is priced at Rs 6.12 lakh (ex-showroom) and the car comes with a 5-star global NCAP safety rating. The company is presenting it in petrol as well as CNG and electric versions.

According to market research firm Jato Dynamics, Maruti WagonR has sold a total of 1,16,000 units between January and July 2024, while during this time Tata Panch has recorded sales of more than 1,26,000 units. If the contribution of models other than petrol in the sales, 45% sales of wagonar came from CNG models. The same, CNG and electric models contributed 47% in the sale of punch.

The secret of Tata punch’s success
Panch is a micro SUV, which provides facilities like SUV at affordable price. Apart from this, Panch has adopted multi-fuel options only moving beyond petrol options, due to which customers also get the option to choose CNG and electric models besides petrol. The electric electric and CNG variants make 47% of its total sales, which reflects the popularity of alternative fuel options. It is also clear from this change that the interest of consumers is now moving from traditional fuel to alternative fuel options.
