New Delhi:
After claiming an American woman, she was sueing her former employer that she was fired to take leaves to take care of her dying daughter. Terry Estep, who works at Huntington Bank for 30 years in Michigan, took a sick day and a family and medical leave of abscess (FMLA) to take care of his daughter, Samantha, which was detected of triple-negative breast cancer.
Ms. Estep used all her 12 -week FMLA holiday, when she finished all her holidays and paid the holiday to take care of her daughter, CBS News,
The former Huntington Bank employee said his daughter Samantha convicted himself for her mother’s firing. She said, “It really hurts her. She started crying on the phone. She said, mother, you lost their jobs because of me.”
The death of 31 -year -old Samantha lost his job within 10 days.
“It was an incredible blow,” Sara Perscoat, a lawyer to Ms. Ester, said, who filed a lawsuit against the bank to get a mourning mother to use the FMLA holiday.
According to the report, Samantha detected breast cancer in April 2023, and her condition deteriorated over time, which forces Ms. Estep to use all her available leaves to take care of her. She wanted to live with her daughter while she was undergoing treatment and used federal laws that allow employees to take jobs, unpaid, motivated for medical and family reasons.
When she returned to the office, Ms. ESTEP requested more leave, but despite a long term with the company, was fired on the same day. “I was completely shocked. I was not ready for anything like this,” she said.
“This is a law that you need to do all the correct paperwork and ask on time. Terry did all that,” said Ms. Pescott.
Huntington Bank said in response to the trial that he was “committed to compliance with all employment laws, including the Family and Medical Holidays Act, and we worked properly in the matter.”
