The world’s biggest traffic jam in India! People stuck for 48 hours

The Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh caused a 300 km long traffic jam, in which many vehicles were stranded for 48 hours. Prayagraj Sangam railway station was also closed.

New Delhi. India has probably recorded the world’s longest traffic jam – about 300 km – and it is not Bengaluru. The incident took place on Sunday when the Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh got about 300 km long jam. A large number of vehicles were stopped in Madhya Pradesh, which were going towards Prayagraj. It is believed that it can be the world’s largest traffic jam.

This year a large crowd gathered in Mahakumbh and many of them got stuck in heavy traffic jams. Reports said that vehicles blocked the roads in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. The police quoted as saying, “Today (Sunday) is impossible to go towards Prayagraj as there is a 200-300 km traffic jam.”

Jam for 48 hours
Reports also said that many vehicles were stranded for more than 48 hours, and people say that it took about 12 hours to cover a distance of 50 km. According to the Inspector General of Police, the jam was due to the crowd of weekends and it is expected that the jam will end in a couple of days. Prayagraj Sangam railway station was also closed to avoid any untoward incident.

Competition to reach Kumbh Mela
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Kuldeep Singh, there was a jam due to a large number of vehicles trying to reach the fair site. “The number of vehicles is very high. Passengers are trying to come as close to the Mahakumbh Mela area. Due to this, there is a long jam. “
